July 13, 2008 We're in Sault Ste Marie (the "Soo") now. So far we've cycled over 4000 km. We hear that the hills are behind us...thank gawd! The weather has been cool and great for handling those big climbs. We've got exactly one month to do the rest of the trip. We picked up another cyclist, Serge (from Montreal) at Montreal River and he cycled with us today. We're camping for free at a cyclist campground (with washroom and shower) run by the kind folks at Velorution Cycle at the North entrance to the Soo and it was great to see Ari when we got there. Last night we stayed at Pancake Bay in a gorgeous cabin with our new friend Serge. We had spectacular views of Lake Superior which we cycled alongside for most of the day.
