June 6, 2008. We're in Jasper now. Staying with our friend Mario (thanks, Ross!) Weather is cold and wet. We've now worn everything warm that we brought with us. It was +3C this morning. Cloudy and rainy on and off. Blue River to Valemont, Barb and Marty saw 6 bears. (Barb would rather see them in the zoo!) Valemont to the Lucerne campground yesterday (just before Alberta-BC boarder). Mario showed up with beer and cider!!! Yippeee! Ray put up a great tarp over the picnic table, and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We're staying tonight at Mario's, doing laundry as we speak, going to the Miette Hotsprings by car - real luxury! Mario's cycling as far as Hinton with us tomorrow (79km). Have done 885km so far. Bye for now, R&L, B&M
