June 3, 2008. Today is a rest day in Blue River at Mike Wiegele's Heliski Lodge....log cabin with private rooms and king size beds...very nice! Yesterday at Birch Island weather changed. Rained all night and next morning. Cloudy and overcast....and saw 5 black bears! Last one was a baby black bear right next to the road...cool! Our first 100km day, total 666km to date....ideal cycling with a tail wind. Been visiting with Marty's three brothers - Rory, Tim and Steve Quinn. They're having us over for a BBQ tonight.
